I've been feeling anxious lately. My performance in school is bad and I fear for my third quarter grades. I promised to myself I would do better that quarter and yet I'm not satisfied with the scores I've got that quarter in various activities. What's worse is that my first quiz for the quarter in Math is worth crying for although it's not a failing grade. It's frustrating! The quiz was very easy and my careless mistakes got the better of me.

I tell myself once more to do much BETTER. I hate it when I have to endure the disappointed looks on my parents when I give them low grades. C'mon! I know I can do better than that! And the reason for all these is just because I'm too irresponsible. I always cram! Just the reason why I feel regret when I see the scores of my projects and assignments because I know I didn't do my best. And I easily get distracted and am too lazy to study that's why I always get disappointed when I see my scores.

Yes, I am too grade-conscious. And it's not because of my parents' expectations. I really just want them to be happy and be proud of me. After all, doing my best makes me very much happy as well. And I must say that we shouldn't be troubled much when our parents expect too much because they know what really is best for us. It will just trouble us in the end when we don't follow them, let our emotions get the better of us and have regrets when we fail.

So I'd better do my VERY VERY BEST this quarter. I've wasted too much opportunities which God has so generously provided me for the last years.

I know this is one day late, so I'm very sorry. I was busy during the day of Christmas because I went to my grandmother's house. So...

A BLESSED AND MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!!

I hope that during this event, we are reminded of the humility and love of God by coming down here on Earth not as some rich king or mighty soldier but as a meek and vulnerable baby whose life was in constant danger. May we Christians continue to believe in Him, imitate Him and spread love and peace throughout the world.

This Christmas, I would like to share the experience of my father when he went to Daraga, Bicol last December 20-22. To those who don't know, Bicol was devastated by the typhoon. He was there with some Gawad Kalinga volunteers from different schools and Youth for Christ and Couples for Christ communities.

My father brought with him a lot of cheap anime stickers which he bought in bulk in Divisoria. There were Naruto, Prince of Tennis and other series. (Although I fear that there are some shonen-ai-ish fan arts included in those stickers) He gave them to the children and their reaction really touched him. They were very happy and continuously said thank you (of course in Filipino) to my dad. Even the parents whom my dad also gave those stickers had big smiles on their faces.

What's touching was that these simple 5 Peso each stickers would give them more happiness and brighter smiles than the money and food distributed to them as relief goods to which they reply a weak "thank you". Those stickers were very beautiful to them. My dad felt very blessed that he was able to make them happy.

I was disappointed that I wasn't able to witness with my dad the happiness the children had. I still had school which was very annoying.

May what my dad experienced help us learn the true meaning of giving. May we always keep in mind that just the thought will make other people very happy for they feel loved.

Wow! I've noticed, it's been a long time since I've updated my account. I know it's not hard to update journals but I really find it hard to share my thoughts to other people even if I'm anonymous in this site (oh wait, my friends know me here...hehehehe). But really, I don't know what's wrong with me or maybe I'm just too lazy to update. Sometimes, inspiration to update comes but someone's already using the computer and I don't want to disturb that person. So inspiration is suddenly gone.

I'm currently finishing my Biology HW on the advantages of cloning. Cloning's such heavy stuff, really. But I guess it would be hard for me to support it during our debate in Biology class because I'm totally against it. But surely, I would enjoy the challenge.
